Treatment and Rehabilitation

Our team of veterinarians and on site trainers have the unique ability to work together to rehabilitate horses back from injury, surgery, and illness. Dr. Braeutigam and Dr. Larberg keep a close eye on the progress of each horse in the rehabilitation program, ensuring that the work proceeds with few setbacks. We are proud that we have brought back many horses (including show hunters, jumpers, and Standardbreds, among others) that were considered "useless" or unsaleable and turned them into winning horses. This service is highly individualized and tailored to the specific needs of each horse, the cost is based on the horse’s initial condition and the services needed, as well as the length of time services are required.

Four Winds farrier services include corrective shoeing and trimming for laminitis, white line hoof-wall resections, and other complicated foot conditions, provided by Richard Becker, past president of the Michigan Farrier Association. He is in the American Farriers Association Hall of Fame. Dick works well with local blacksmiths for consultation and follow-up care.
